Frequently Asked Questions

Is there an age requirement?

The only requirement for financial coaching is that you’re at least 18 years old. There is no maximum age limit.

I don’t earn a lot, will you still coach me?

Yes I work with people from all backgrounds, and I specialize in helping those earning less than $120k. I’m not a financial coach for the wealthy. I enjoy helping regular people build wealth and achieve their financial goals.

How is a financial coach different from a financial advisor?

A financial coach helps you manage your financial life top to bottom, and shows you how to get on a path to building and growing wealth. A financial coach doesn’t manage money for their clients. As a result a financial coach is paid only for their time, and has no incentive to push a client into any particular investment. Financial coaches usually work independently.

A financial advisor typically helps clients manage and grow wealth that already exists. An advisor may manage money on their client’s behalf and in some cases is paid based on which products their client buys. Though some financial advisors work independently, many work for large financial firms.

What makes a good financial coach?

This is a very important question. Anyone can call themselves a financial coach so it’s important to use the following criteria.

A good financial coach has;

  1. Built significant wealth. You wouldn’t take fashion advice from someone with bad clothes, and you shouldn’t take money advice from someone that hasn’t proven that they know how to win with money.

  2. A certification proving knowledge of personal finance and the ability to coach others.

  3. Deep and broad experience in a financial profession.

  4. Experience coaching people like you in a one-on-one coaching setting.

  5. A minimum of an undergraduate degree in a related field such as Finance, Accounting, or Economics.

I need help but your services don’t fit my needs. Is another arrangement possible?

Where possible, I can be flexible. If you’re looking for a different arrangement, email me at modicafinancialcoaching@outlook.com or schedule a free consultation so we can discuss.

I’m really bad with money. Is there any hope for me?

YES! If you have big money problems, the only way to fix them is to take action. Act now and schedule an appointment. Many people find their problems aren’t as big as they thought they were.
